A Brief Historical Account

Eurolink Nigeria Limited was registered in 1982 to import and market quality pharmaceuticals from reportable companies in Europe.

Europharm Laboratories is a Subsidiary of Eurolink Nigeria Limited and engages in indigenous manufacture of quality pharmaceuticals in Nigeria.

All along however, the ultimate ambition of ENL was to become a manufacturer of quality Pharmaceuticals. This ambition gained a major boost in 1984 when ENL Directors who had been watching Government industrial policies especially in relation to Pharmaceutical manufacturing, decided that the time had indeed come for ENL to make physical and fiscal commitment to pharmaceutical Production.

Accordingly, in 1984 a large piece of land was acquired in the New industrial Area of Jos. In the same year, the then Chase Merchant Bank (now Continental Merchant Bank) was contacted and a proposal for financial assistance was discussed. Almost simultaneously, ENL commissioned a management consultancy Firm, to do a feasibility study towards establishing a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Jos. The result of the study positively and irreversibility committed ENL to go ahead with its plans for the Plant. ENL has not looked back since then.

Accordingly, by1987, ENL was already at the point of test production and did in fact, began commercial production in 1988. As at today EUROPHARM LABORATORIES, a mere concept in 1984 has become one of the leading wholly  indigenous Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in Nigeria and indeed the Largest Pharmaceutical Plant in the north of Nigeria.

Dramatic you would say, but for this is only the beginning of a phenomenon. From only 8 products in 1988, EUROPHARM LABORATORIES today produces over 32 products covering a wide spectrum of the therapeutic groups viz. Analgesic/Antipyretic, Anti – infective (various Groups), Respiratory systems Drugs, Vitamins, psychotherapeutic Drugs and Antihistamine/Anti-pruritic, as evidenced in our products profile.

As at today the company has the capacity to produce over 0.9 million bottles of Dry Syrup over 350million tablets, over 5 million 20- gram tubes of ointment, 10 million bottles (80 or 100ml) of liquid oral preparations and 76 million Capsules per year.

EUROLINK NIGERIA LIMITED (ENL) has a dynamic and progressive management and has the financial support of Unity Bank, NEXIM Bank and B.O.I (Bank of Industry).
